Daniel Keet is a South African born artist, mostly active in Europe and South Africa. He studied orchestral conducting in Pretoria, Leipzig and Milan, and also obtained a masters from the Accademia Teatro alla Scala.

In 2024 Daniel was appointed as the first Judith Neilson Young Artist Conductor at Cape Town Opera. His other 2024 engagements include concerts in Hamburg with the Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie, concerts with the MUSAEorchestra, a return to the Berlin Opera Academy and Lucia di Lammermoor with Cape Town Opera in Johannesburg.

Appart from his work as a conductor, he is an opera/linguistics coach, being fluent in Italian, German, Afrikaans and English, with ongoing engagements of literature translations. Education and development programs are a core focus, as he aims to bring music and literature to new audiences.
